The DoJ did not ask MS to include a copy of Netscape in W98. This is a story put out by MS. The DoJ said that this was an idea, one of several on the table, but that they did not make it a demand. Gates is grandstanding on this and creating a straw man. Sorry I don't have the exact source, but it was in one of the several articles read today, maybe on Bloomberg or NYT or WashPost. You are correct. The Sunday Washington Post quotes a Justice official's denial of this claim.
