MOSCOW (AP) - Retired and disabled gold miners demanding their pensions blocked a railroad in southern Siberia on Saturday, joining a spreading protest by coal miners who have stopped traffic on part of the Trans-Siberia railway and a line in northern Russia.

About 40 former miners from the Artyomovski gold mine blocked a rail line that connects the city of Abakan with the Trans-Siberian railway, the ITAR-Tass news agency reported.
