HTML Live chat. Still sounds like Netscape/AOL instant messenger to me. Guess we'll have to wait and see on that one.

Isn't the Y2K stuff supposed to be up later this week? Can't wait.

It was a little curious that the tgifriday.com site, that one would assume uses this Bleeding Edge technology, doesn't seem to respond.

Another curious aspect to the TGIFriday site--if they're talking about the restaurant chain, its name is TGI Friday's. Corporations are pretty particular about getting stuff like that right. And look at the date they reserved the domain name.

internic.net

Surely they've had time to get the name right by now! And if it's not the restaurant chain, well corporations are pretty particular about TAHT too.

jhild, you said, "Bleeding Edge indeed." You've summed it up well. The "Gif/Jpg Combo-pictures" on that same page are an example.

This is not at all "new", "innovative", or "bleeding edge". And there's not even anything "combo" about it&#151not some hybridization of gif and jpg image file formats (which would certainly be a feat). Instead, you take an image and cut it up so that it is now six images, place the images next to each other on a page so they appear again, to be one. <&#147They are put together using a complex set of tables and must be assembled perfectly in order to work&#133&#148>&#151there's another name for this: standard HTML. And with today's GUI-based page builders, you don't even need to know what you're doing. You can create a "Gif/Jpg Combo" within minutes, in the privacy of your own home, no experience neccessary. <gg>

I'm reminded of the joke where you order a pizza and the waiter asks, "Would you like that cut into 4 pieces, or 8?". You respond, "Oh&#151four please, I could never eat eight."
