The colonization of space will not occur fast enough to spare our children a life on this planet. > Life is expansive, that is it's nature, and human life, acting on the instinct of self-preservation will continue to expand.< And this quote overlooks the fact that life is more like a rubberband. Once overpopulation occurs many events arise to limit the population and bring it back within bounds. Antisocial behavior escalates, plagues break out, so life cannot just keep expanding- it doesn't work that way. So the rational person would work to DO something about curtailing human life on this planet, as well as trying to protect the planet itself.
