For those with WSJ access here is an interesting article on the disappearance of the "independent analyst." Article essentially says almost all analysts have become corporate shills for their firm's investment banking section. The few who choose to pursue an independent and honest course (i.e., David Londoner, the focus of the article) soon find themselves frozen out.

Little here we didn't already know, but interesting to see it in the Journal.
