I play in several during the Summer and Fall. Mostly club tournaments, some pro-ams.

This one is one of the two annual member-member tournaments. This is match play. I lost in the finals once, and won another time. It is based on handicap, although handicap does not always help the higher guys. Last year a team beat us in the quarter-finals on the 13th.....one of the other guys was 5 under par on his own ball at that point. Even though he was giving my partner 2 strokes and me ten we just could not douse him.

Of course, he was also giving his own partner a bunch. That did not hurt him much.

On the other hand the time I lost in the finals I was getting 15 from a scratch who shot a 70....I had a 77......but his partner was a 22 who carded a 78 during the first 18 of the 36 hole final. The second 18 was not much easier for us and we lost on the 32nd hole.

As soon as a friend pointed out I was dropping the driver I fixed it. Later he showed me I was dropping the irons, too. So that's okay now.

Now the problem is getting the yardage correct and consistent. When I really make contact it really takes off. Spooky.

Well, gotta bolt.
