So far so good

I'm satisfied that MSFT did not cause a market sell-off this AM.

I don't believe that any Federal Court judge would issue a temporary restraining order --- the only way to stop Win98 immediately. (Once this registers on Wall Street we may see a recovery in the price.) After the product ships, then the most that could be done is a preliminary injunction --- only granted after many hearings and delays, and that would only have an effect on new shipments after it is issued.

Any broad anti-trust suit would tend to focus on business practices and the remedies might be quite different from those rejected by Pope William (ie. GUI mods). MSFT feels it has the Federal Appeals Court in its pocket. The State actions are likely to get combined with the JD's and we'll see if Jackson gets the new case.
