Maybe so. But we should already own at least some piece of this IPO, right? They can't possibly say we don't.

Scott- it's better than that. These 2 definitions are from the Bloomberg Online dictionary:

Rights Offering- A company gives the holders of common stock the right to buy a proportionate number of new issue shares at a lower price before the new issue is offered publicly.

Stock Rights - A stockholder's right to buy shares of the company's new issue at a predetermined price. The number of shares the stockholder can buy is set according to his or her current holdings.
