Spreads of 1/8 are inexcusable - let alone 1/2 - particularly if the stock you're investing in trades good volume.

Small-house market makers are getting rich, and keeping their clients complacent, by settling for "Teenies" (1/16 spreads...sometimes less). Everybody's happy, except for the big old houses.

Considering that online trading is a NEW technology, these e-houses sure seem to be fattening up on "old-school" business philosophies.

Jesus...it's the INTERNET...with access to that many potential on-line accounts, why not settle for a 1/64 ?!! Everybody would be REAL happy
