I agree with you if that's the case (probably is). But just a thought. I read somewhere today that IBM began to promote internet phone provided by IDT. If MCOM is in the business of providing wireless internet access and if their speed is fast enough, can they also or is it possible they can also... any link there? Just a thought.

This makes no sense. Sure, MCOM has all those boxes on telephone poles to install, but they are a lot cheaper than a Cellular base station.

Additionally, Cellular will never offer internet access like Metricom does because it would undermine their $/minute charging. They are not prepared to (nor is their expensive ifrastructure going to be amortized by) offering flat rate access.
