Let's agree to disagree. MCOM is about wireless, _affordable_, Internet connectivity NOW. They are not trying to be a cellular company. When their autobahn service (128K) becomes available starting next year, they will be very well positioned for laptop users in their service areas.

I've used MCOM Ricochet for almost a year now and would recommend it to anyone. Until you use it, its hard to understand the freedom that it provides when velcro'd to my laptop. At ~33.6KBps the speed is very usuable. Just yesterday, I watched the RealVideo trailer to Disney's new movie over MCOM and the performance was respectable.

I agree with many of your points in theory! Where we disagree is the speed at which these changes will become affordable to a subscriber base that is large enough to make MCOM profitable. Again, I see no objective indication that cellular companies are interested in lowering prices or providing affordable, unlimited Internet connectivity any time soon.
