Zeem, Thank-you.

I thought I was the only one. When I got my home computer it had Win95, Lotus, netscape, IE setup available, gee choices. I have been uninstalling and configuring to my liking. So exactly what is the problem. And if poor Netscape feels put upon, team up with IBM and put out another choice.

Maybe you people would be happy if Gates moved the whole operation from Redmond to Belize and only sold his innovative products to other Counties. And we can use the watered down stuff DOJ allows us to have. In fact that might not be a bad idea to move 50,000 jobs to a more amenable County.

That'd be cool. Forsaking the US market would be good for all Microsoft investors, needless to say. Then, we'd be forced to get Bill's excellent software the same way the Chinese do. I'm sure the Belize foreign service would be much more effective at getting the Chinese to realize the benefits of intellectual property rights than the lesser Bill and his minions in the State Dept.

Cheers, Dan.

>>I'm just a consumer so I really don't care about who's doing what to whom as long as I get a good product. And so far MS has given me product.<<

Ok, you got product from Microsoft.

But that is not what this debate is about. We do care about who is doing what to whom when it affects the whole software/hardware and communications/media industry. This discussion is very much about the future industrial landscape and the role of the government in shaping it.

Microsoft has achieved a monopoly on the desktop, monopolies are regulated differently, end of story. The SEC regulates stock markets, FCC, FDA, ... do their thing, and the DOJ is charged with these kind of investigations.

If you have a problem with that, contact your local senator or representative.

Actually I was planning to give out DOJ versions of the OS and browser to some of my competitors as tokens of my appreciation:-)

<Anyone remember the days when you could afford to call long distance with the help of an Operator over lines in our homes that were set up and maintained for free while receiving only one bill for all services (Ma Bell)!>

I do! I also remember really expensive long distance charges.
