Paul - re low Aussie $ - It might accelerate their hedging - but wouldn't it make the spot price attractive too? With the thought that their dollar is now low, but the U.S. $ might not be so high in the future?

To expand on the whole business of hedging some more - not only is it desirable for producers - to ensure steady and predictablecash flow, but it is used all the time by most people involved in any kind of foreign trade, in the currencies future market. It is difficult to see how gold producers could bring mega mines on stream without using some sort of hedging mechanism to ensure predictable future cash flow for project loan repayment. I think we can take it as a fact of life. E.
