I certainly got the impression that the Iridium numbers almost totally surprised Mr. Runyon. I don't think he wanted to talk about the economic value of Ir because he'd only had a busy two hours to deal with it and everything else that was going on. Clearly, it has value, but the implications of its discovery and possible masking of Au aren't clear. He did stress that Ir currently has a very small market. It was almost as though he thought Maxam's find would/could drop the value like a rock, thus making the economics very volatile and speculative at this point.
