NetPhone Technology to Enhance IBM Telephony Solutions for Small- and Medium-Sized Businesses

NetPhone VARs Now Have Access to High-Powered Distribution Channel

NetPhone, Inc., a leading provider of communications servers and telephony solutions, today announced that IBM will offer NetPhone's PBX technology as part of its Small Business Computer Telephony Solution. The solution combines a telephony-switching adapter card with advanced call control and voicemail software, a three-year limited warranty, a single point of contact for support services, and SystemXtra packaged services and financing.
IBM's products will support increased demand for standards-based communications servers. Resellers and their customers will benefit from IBM's trusted name, high-level service and insight into the high-technology marketplace.

The Small Business Computer Telephony Solution from IBM includes the IBM CT-618 Adapter and IBM telephony software. The IBM CT-618 Adapter provides on-board switching capabilities between incoming phone lines and local extensions and supports up to six trunk lines with functionality for up to 18 users. The switching capability and voice services are based on technology from NetPhone and provide reliable uninterrupted phone service. IBM's computer telephony solution will initially be available for use with the IBM 7588 passive backplane server running Windows NT and will soon be available with selected IBM Netfinity servers.
