Mohan:
Over a 37 year period, I have been a reader of NYTimes. I have noticed a consistent pattern. Many of the articles about India were slanted. Anything that does not fit their editorial policies get a slanted view. But Mr.Rosenthal is an exception as are some others. But most of the NYTimes reporters going to India can't see beyond dust and heat. The dust and heat take such a big toll on their brain chemistry, that they fail to see the truth and report as they see it. Another fault is that Indians make these foreign reporters look so important, that they start really believing in what they report, however much it is inaccurate and slanted.
Remember the men and material and logistics involved in holding the election. That did not get its fair treatment. But some celebrity people, who are not of any historical importance,or some such soft material, get extensive treatment. This is the case with most of the news papers and broadcast stations. What sells is what get reported - that is All the News That's is fit to Print.

Mohan or anyone:

Do you know why this Worswick character is so obsessed with me? In the Asia thread he was very uncivil towards me for nothing that I wrote to him ever. I express my opinion like he does and I am NOT uncivil towards anyone at any time. If I ever hear any more posts from this character addressed to me, I will stop posting here. He is absolutely obnoxious towards someone who finds him uncivilized enough not to engage in a dialogue.

In any case, I read most of the stuff on India elsewhere and came here to post based on your invitation at the IOM thread. But, this Worswick character makes me sick to continue to post.

Thanks for creating a thread. I can at least visit here to glean for any new information.
