That's the way it works with ETrade in Canada for us. They let us margin a small amount about 10% of total account

You are right, Mr. D (as usual). ETrade does not allow you to buy DGIV on margin from your cash account. However, if you have other stocks, you can buy those on margin and then use the cash to buy DGIV, which is a back door way to margin DGIV. The problem is that if those margined stocks drop, you may be forced to sell off DGIV to meet a margin call. Also, if the MMs play with DGIV's price, it could also generate a margin call. So I don't like to play with that, but as soon as DGIV becomes marginable I am like you. I want to get in before the big boys! Well, I guess you are a big boy too, so I will try to get in with you :-)
