If they are not to be "trifled with", why didn't they win Vs. IBM?

Because current FOB Charles "Rick" Rule took over the antitrust division? Aside from which, IBM's antitrust saga influenced their business practices quite a bit, the era of "paper machines", the vaporware of the time, ended pretty quickly after they lost a battle or two. And, there's the old irony that they probably wouldn't have cut that original deal with Bill if they weren't still under antitrust scrutiny.

I know, this is all another small mind thing. Brilliant Bill vs. the IBM dolts is an old topic here, that is the preferred level of analysis for Microsoft/IBM issues.

Cheers, Dan.

"why didn't they win Vs. IBM?"

Are you referring to the ruling on bundling services? If not, what are you referring to?
