While it's old news to some, I think it the final undisputable certification of wrongdoing. It can't help but persuade customers who may have believed denials of copying of source code at any level. To this point Avant! could say something like it's all under appeal, or that the accusations were merely a marketing strategy employed by inferior competitors.

Yes Virginia, customers generally do care about the stability of vendors.

The wheels are turning slowly, but the direction appears to be clearing up, like the cloudy El Nino skies giving way to summer here in the Silicon Valley.

It's just one investors opinion. I'm sure we will be reading all the counterpoints soon.

p.s. I think its too bad that we don't hear from long-time contributors including Larry M anymore.

Probably bad advice from thier attorneys. Surely, they couldn't have believed that the Supreme Court would hear a matter as small as the enjoinment of a product in a $350-450mm market? Sounds like they should reign in thier attorneys. My guess is they figured they didn't have anything to lose. It probably cost them a couple of grand to file the appeal with the Supreme Court . They probably thought "heah maybe we hit the lottery and the SC rules in our favor".
