Digital's AltaVista Search Service Extends Relationship
With Yahoo!

MAYNARD, Mass., May 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Digital Equipment Corporation's (NYSE: DEC -
news) AltaVista Search service ( altavista.digital.com ) has signed an agreement with Yahoo! ( yahoo.com ) to be an alternative search provider at the bottom of Yahoo! Web site search results pages.

When a user clicks on the AltaVista option at the bottom of Yahoo! Web site search results pages, the search will be pre-formatted and go directly to the AltaVista property offering search results.
This arrangement provides an additional distribution outlet for AltaVista as a major portal to the Web and additional responses to Yahoo! inquiries.
