<<However, most cases of stock movement that appear to be manipulation are just market reactions to increased hedging activity by many MMs not necessarily working in concert.>>

Right. It's a conspiracy of interests, not necessarily an out and out conspiracy.

I don't know if we're going to see any gains in market share this quarter (except in the laptop space) but I am sure Apple will continue to have the best margins in the business.

The number I can't get out of my head is the ten million Macs Apple has sold into the consumer space. That's about 40% of total Mac sales yet Apple has been effectively out of this space for a while. Obviously, that's a lot of low-hanging fruit. Selling into this base is going to be a lot easier than making inroads into the enterprise.

This fall/winter could be very sweet.

I don't know what Dell's results are going to do to Apple tomorrow. Dell's report wasn't awful and the lower component costs that helped Dell are helping Apple. One would hope the smart money would shift this way, but that seems to take time. I'm heartened by the increase in mindshare going on with Novell these days. That stock is at a 52-wk high and getting analyst upgrades weekly. The NOVL and AAPL performance this year show that people are starting to wake up. Phil is right, we are due for another upgrade or two.

PS--Avie does sell a lot of stock, but after toiling at NeXT for so long when he could've been at MSFT, I suppose the tendency is to want to finally cash in.
