Glenn - right, that's a service disadvantage , as I see it. The cost of carrying inventory
might outweigh sales lost due to out-of-stock problems , however.

Poorly inventoried jewelry stores due far worse than those well stocked.

<<Book retailer BarnesandNoble.com Inc. this week is expected to disclose
that it will work with Who Where? Inc. to offer a personal Web-page
publishing service that will enable users to open online book stores in
a Web mall sponsored by BarnesandNoble.com.

The site, dubbed BookPlace.com, is set to launch within the next two
months and expands on the concept behind traditional "affiliate"
programs in which merchandisers pay sales commissions to Web sites that
direct paying customers to their online store.>>
