BINGO !!

anonymously giving..something Soros usually does on CNBC. I love the way you think.

A step further ,I wonder how long it would take God to reject the best, purest, first fruits, spotless, unblemished, anonymous, offering I could imagine in my mind and give to him without the intercession of Christ. The answer.

Faster than the blink of an eye..1/5 second.

Faster than a speeding bullet.

Faster than .000000000000000000000000001 nanoseconds.

In Christ..gregor

Dear AO :

I will fill in the spaces at some point in time but there are some events that are going on right now that I feel will shake the foundation of the financial markets of the world.

I know there are plenty of threads i. e. Big Kahuna etc. that are discussing these events. We know that the financial markets are influenced by greed and fear. There are very few Christians that do not have some stake in the financial arena; whether it be dealing with banks, retirement accounts, social security.

Psalms 1 1:3 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly nor standeth in the way of sinners nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful, but his delight is in the law of the Lord and in His law doth He meditate day and night: and he shall be like a tree planted beside rivers of water that bringeth forth fruit in his season; and his leaf shall not wither and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper".

I see so many Christians that are not prospering, that are in debt, that are actually just the opposite of what they should be and I ask myself why? You can see them on these threads all day long. Good people that make comments like " buy the stocks I sell and sell the stocks I buy, you will get rich". Good people that, have the opposite "touch" of the person recognized in 1st Psalms. Everything they touch turns to dirt, not gold.

Don't get me wrong I am not going to criticize them and tell them what they are doing wrong; but I have to make some observations..

I feel the key to 1st Psalms is in the "rivers of water" that is mentioned. Ye shall be like a tree planted beside "rivers of water".

The Hebrew word is "pagley mayim" or divisions of water. In a water parched middle east the author probably had only one image in mind and that is "irrigation ditches', or "canals".

Can you begin to see the plan that the Lord has to prosper His people. We should be a cultivated plant, there should not be that much difference between our fruit and the fruit of our brother. There should be unity and single purpose of what type of fruit we should bear. We are not lone trees beside the river Jordan.

The Lord owns the land, us ( purchased at calvary), calls the shots, (is the head tender of the orchard ), "plants us beside rivers of water". (he doesn't give the choice of which end of the orchard we want to be located), each tree has a season and the fruit is the ultimate gain or goal( shall bring forth fruit in his season) and the last statement" "and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper".

This is the real key..Why oh why God have you compared this righteous person to a tree? Don't you think the comparison is "silly". What does a tree have to do. ? What choices does a tree have to make ?

.I feel this is the reason. Get into the 15 chap of John. The Father is the husbandman. Christ is the vine, the true vine. Abide in Christ. The branch cannot bear fruit unless it abides in Christ; for without Christ ye can do nothing 15:8 the Father is glorified when we bear fruit. The answer is to abide in Christ. It is almost an afterthought to hear the author say 'oh yea ! I almost forgot to mention. If you do all these things whatsoever ye do ye shall prosper.

This seems to be the reward for abiding in Christ. Well; nothing meant to be personal to anyone.

Conclusion. To live our lives pleasing to God. Abide in Christ, the word of God. Don't consider yourself above or below any other Christian. When the father sees our fruit he will be pleased. You ask what kind of fruit. Fruits of the spirit are a good start.
1. love.2. joy.3. peace.4. gentleness.5. longsuffering. 6. goodness. 7. faith.8. meekness. 9. temperance. But from here we can go on to fruits in your job, your family life, your prayer life , your praise life, your worship life.

You say I am absurd to believe there is a connection between having what you touch turn to dirt or turn to gold (economically speaking) and the fruit that you bear in your spiritual life. Yes, that is exactly what I am saying. Turn it around. If a person is having all sorts of economic problems(everything they touch turns to dirt) then the spiritual fruits are lacking somewhere. Yes that is what I am saying.

Looking at it another way. To envision a set of circumstances where "whatsoever he shall do shall prosper". That engine of circumstances in that person's life had better be clicking on all cylinders. The family life had better be great, the spiritual life had better be outstanding, the worship life had better be stellar, and on and on.

If I am not right; then why haven't more people figured it out ? But in a way it is a carrot that the Lord dangles in front of us. To give us a little added incentive to get down on those hands and knees and pray a little harder.

In Christ.gregor
