Alta Vista is just waiting to explode. Even though you don't hear a lot about it, it's still the 10th highest hit page on the internet. I do think, however, that Compaq should spin it off after injecting some life into the site. It seems that the pieces are valued more when they are alone and not part of some larger company. Of course, we CPQ holders should get some shares from the spin off. And then Compaq could get cheap or free advertising on AltaVista. -Eddie
