IBM's moves are a surprise which will be reflected in the IDTI stock price. However the pricing of the IBM parts and IDTI's expressed broader plan provide room for both of them to succeed if busines execution follows. (The incertainty of it doesn't bode well short term).

I hope the IBM foundry deal is not illusionary as IDTI does need second sourcing and cooperation from this foundry division of IBM (separate from the IBM X86 group)

No, this is a continuation of their fab agreement with Cyrix/NSM. They have been making the 6X86s and MediaGX parts for Cyrix all along. These higher speed grades will fetch a higher ASP than 200-266 Mhz speeds. IBM's agreement with Cyrix/NSM allows them to co-market the 6X86 under their own label. For every part they make for Cyrix, they get to keep one part to sell as an IBM uP.
