That site could be anybody putting up a front.

I wet my pants .... I laughed so hard!! That ole sneaky Nebraska Oil & Gas Commission!

I'm going to go out on a limb here Sturgeon and say that you are a big fan of Mr. Oliver Stone.

You make Seinfield look like Jake and the Fatman. You DA man!

Keep em coming, but please no more today. My poor little bladder can't handle it..

Hey Bob, if you check that site out close enough you'll discover that it was created by an 8th grader.

I suppose most government sites are now employing teens to develop their web sites.<g>

Just called NAMX in regards to the two wells in question. I was told
my call would be returned. I doubt it.

Sturgeon,

Are you so cheap that you couldn't make the call? My guess is that
you are afraid of what you will find out.

Here's a reply from the creator of the web site in question.
================================================================
I managed to get to the message I will now explain.
First of all yes the Nebraska Oil & Gas Commission is a real goverment
agency in nebraska. Bill Sydow is the director, what happened was I was
creating a site just related to Oil Fields in southwest nebraska and was
also creating some proof/draft pages to give Bill an idea as to what they
could do on the internet. Somewhere during the FTP the filenames got
crossed and that is why their appeared to be an Nebraska Oil & Gas
Commission Page. Please explain this to all who have been confused and I
thank you for your telling me, it has immediately been fixed, and removed
from the server. I'm sorry for any complicaitons this may have caused. If
you would like to contact the commisison please let me know and I will
forward you their address etc.
Sorry About the Mixup, Thanks for the info.

Bob S,

Sorry for not answering earlier, but I actually spent 2 hours on a transatlantic call.

First:

I looked it up with the help of Alta Vista and here is what I got:

1. Nebraska Oil & Gas Commission
The Nebraska Oil & Gas Commissions WWW Site
swnebr.net - size 2K - 06-May-1997 - English - Translate

2. 57 - Nebraska Oil & Gas Conservation Commission
57 - Nebraska Oil & Gas Conservation Commission. Director: William H. Sydow. Analyst: Elton Larson. Statutory
Authority: Nebraska State Statutes...
das.state.ne.us - size 6K - 15-Jan-1997 - English - Translate

The webpage was hit number 1 (I thought).
Should have checked it out better.

Here are a few other references to the commission:
nesen.unl.edu
iogcc.oklaosf.state.ok.us

I apologize for not being able to give you an email address but I suggest that you phone and ask them if they have one.
You should inquire about applications relating to the Porter field in Deuel County.
