It is obvious for my guess that they had a "bundling" agreement with the software company to provide that Lotus Office with all their pc boxes for a deep discount price. Such an agreement do not explicitly exclude them from supplying competing software. However PC makers probably don't to incur extra cost to provide the alternatives. In this case they bundled Lotus Office but CHOSE to "exclude" Microsoft Office or Perfect Office or even my option NOT to pay for Lotus Office that I don't need or like. At least THEY had a choice not to pick Microsoft Office.
