I was one of the believers who felt that icons and windows were a waste of precious RAM and hard drive space. Almost all the OS resources were to generate those stupid pictures. I thought DOS would last forever. 640K was all I ever needed. Then I tried a Mac Plus with PageMaker 1.0. Having worked in the newspaper business I suddenly realized that icons and windowing allowed me to do four pages of layout in roughly four hours rather than 2 days! I left PCs to the Mac side almost instantly! -Bill_H
