Well my friend, here is the ultimate irony. There is nothing in the numbers, I repeat nothing!, that is even remotely weak. So the bear argument has degenerated into delving into the minds of the longs (that's you and me and Bachman and Kemble and Meathead and Lee and Jim Kelley and Patrick and Sig and Venkie and Freeus and ... ) to figure out what our expectations were for earnings. Remember, we're dealing with some guys who can't add straight, have problems with logic, and engage in wishful thinking. So now they have seized on psychobabble to justify themselves. This company is the greatest growth story I've ever seen.

TTFN,
CTC

BTW, don't you just love all the pessimists around here. One of, if not, the best
growth companies around, fundamentals extremely sound, and everyone think's this
is Titanic II. This place is a riot!!!

I don't think anyone's doubting that dell is a sound company. Some
of us have dared theorize that its price has got ahead of its
revenue growth. Some are betting that Dell's price will go back to
"pre-hype" level(the "day traders" being a fickle lot and such!).
Most of the "hardened bears" will cover at that level(60's say(?)).
If, however, the environment grows worse for Dell(as Kurlak et. al. think re: the higher priced pc's), some shall hold their dell short a little longer(say all the way to the teens).
good luck short or long :)

Caisson,

You don't understand. The pessimists are trying to convince themselves, not us longs.

Geez, talk about irrational exuberance
