They're Serious This Time.

>First there was Pink. Pink was a code name for the follow-on to Blue - which later became System 7. Pink begat Taligent, a joint Apple and IBM venture, and IBM saw to it that Pink never became an OS that could threaten AIX or OS/2. Then we had PowerOpen. Few remember the PowerOpen crisis. The plan was to marry the MacOS to the AIX core and create an open standards system - a better A/UX than A/UX. The problem was that PowerOpen got caught up in IBM bureaucracy and Apple's inability to cope with Unix as a mainstream OS. Apple customers and field reps pleaded with Apple to get on with PowerOpen, but the anti-Unix sentiment in Apple was too strong.<

Thanks. I track more stocks than that and when I want to add a new one, want the historical quotes. So it might cost a lot more, but that sounds reasonable. Linda
