Venkie:

Anyone who bot in Jan98 has over 100% return...Dell will do just fine with these earnings..Wheather you believe it or not..Dell is the Night In Shinning armor..Tell me who else has beaten the numbers lately where the big boys play..cpq-Hwp -Ibm-Sunw..not even Csco..Msft so did fine..Lu-fair..Dell still smooth came thru during the slow qtr .. Where are the sellers going to put that cash .. drugs-banks-semis ... No they will leave it where they can get the most bang or their buck..A great Co.. called dell

You are indeed a lucky individual. Not only have you accumulated wealth, you've found kindred relationships! Bless you.

Yet, I cannot help but wonder based on the companies and sectors you've listed: Why is DELL unique today as an investment? Above any other? Can you (collectively) find the next DELL?

The earnings here are peanuts compared to the earnings
Hewlett and Compaq have had. Market cap for Dell now is
closer to Hewlett than Compaq. Please don't even compare
the results to IBM. But the market cap has approached
IBM now. Dell's cash position is bet. 5 and 10 per cent
of Compaq's. Dell is valued 1.5 X as high as CPQ.
