That's the problem. The public is not educated about the issue. I write a crappy piece of software, I have enough money to make a splashy public campaign, and I'll make tons of money. People are too gullible.
Another serious joke is Office XX. 97, 98, 99, 2000. Heck.. I haven't used 5% of word 6's features. Why would I buy anything with more features?

Randy, unfortunately you are absolutely right. I AM in the minority, and I'm not going to effect MSFT one bit.

MSFT is a brilliant marketing company. They sell sizzle. Unfortunately for us consumers the "innovation" that made MSFT what it is has been gone for some time now. They spend most of their time now protecting their franchise.

You're right, people are going to jump all over Win98. They are going to bring it home, fire it up and expect to see a quantum leap forward like they did when they upgraded from 3.1 to 95. They are not going to see it and they are going to wonder what they got for a hundred bucks. A browser they could have downloaded for free. This one could be ugly for the boys from Redmond. It'll be interesting.
