I think this is a situation where you are adding up things, yet coming up with a wrong sum.

I didn't realize Lochhead resigned, but I'll take your word for it. A new Exec VP of Mktg was hired more than 2 months ago, and that was probably in the works for some time. I'll bet Lochhead was upset that he wasn't named Chief Marketing Officer.

Sippl was there for 8 years - time to move on. Davidow actually has much better credentials to be chairman of a big company. I think it's positive that the CEO is not chairman. A lot of companies get into trouble when it's the same guy. this acts as a check and balance.

Can't speak to the R&D rumor, or what you mean by Jodoin moved aside.

One of the biggest knocks on CLFY, SCOP & RMDY was that as those companies grew, they didn't move management around to get the best and freshest people. Executives at a $25MM company may not be right for a $200MM company. Look at the results at CLFY, SCOP & RMDY - and look at VNTV. I have to give Tom S. credit - he does something similar at SEBL.

This was very much an Ellison thing at ORCL - moving people around, and Tom and Luongo learned fom Larry. It was something we weren't good at IFMX in the early days, and one reason perhaps why ORCL pulled so far ahead of IFMX.
