CNBC Interview-Michael Dell- Topic:DEL-IGHTFUL! Why is the "E" Crooked?<VBG>

Michael:

I don't know about getting the interview on line but if you haven't
seen it here are the highlights.

Participants in the interview:
Makr Haines,Cramer,Joe,and other guy who sit by Joe (forgot the name).

Mark Haines started interview by saying something like we don't want
to dump on you as we could not find any reasons to do so.

1. Enterprise business growing at a healthy pace 177% YOY.

2.Asia Pacific-How is it affecting Dell's business?
Dell does about 7% of business in this region with most of the sales coming from more established countries such as Japan,Australia,Singapore and Hong Kong and 1/2 % of the business is attributable to the trouble spots even they increased sales in this region.

3.Is anybody making money selling components to DELL-
Sure ask Intel was the first response, but when pressed about others such as storage device makers Michael said the trouble they are having is due to overcapacity etc.

4.Microsoft law suit- Also the perception that Michael is 'friend of Bill'- He said he would rather not comment on the law suit as he rather have it go through the process etc. As for the perception and comment about 'friend of Bill' he said 'make no mistake we are nobody's subsidiary'.Also asked about the implication of the DOJ and
MSFT lawsuit and how it might affect Dell,he said any delay in releasing the products could negatively affect everyone including DELL.

Asked about what does thought about if DOJ one day filed a suit against Dell. He said he is not worried at the moment as Dell only has about 7% of the market share, but if he had 80-90% of the market share and DOJ pulled him up for some reason he would welcome the opportunity.

5.Internet- Dell's current run rate is about 2 billion dollars via the internet and the goal is to achieve 50% of the total sales within the next several years. Right now in the consumer area internet sales represents over 30%. Most of the internet sales coming from North America,Japan,Western and Central Europe.

6.Future-Dell expects to grow both top line and bottom line as in the past where revenue grew over 50-55% and earnings too.For example earnings grew faster than revenue this quarter at 63% and hope to maintain the pace in the future.

7.Finally Mark Haines asked how come the 'E' in DELL is crooked and what it represents Michael said the 'E' points upwards at a 45 degree angle and it represents the future and growth or something like that, everybody on the panel thought it was a funny and so did I and a good way to end the interview.

Overall pretty good if you ask me.
