Quite possible we have seen much of the short-covering.

During the last 45 minutes Tuesday.

Darth,

In a transition period as we are, to determine the strength of this rally (DOW now up 58 points), I look for strength in the NEW HIGH/LOWS, BROADBASE BUYING, limited divergences.

Unfortunately, we dont have it today. The NEW HIGH/LOWs is weak, the NAZ is diverging to the downside so the buying is not broadbased, and the VIX index is now in SELL territory.

What appears to be holding the market up right now is the interest rates, but as Patrick mentioned previously that may decouple.

I am getting the feeling that we may have a similar situation as we did yesterday, with the market closing substantially off the highs of the day(basicly flat = plus or minus 30 DOW points).

Seeya.
