And if you're getting your quotes off of SI today, you're getting this message:

Quotes will not be available today. The satellite Galaxy 4 is spinning out of control and has been since 6pm last evening. The outage has caused pagers, NBC, ABC and other data vendors to lose contact with their data sources. We have been affected by this outage and it is beyond our control. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Many other quote services are similarly effected, as everyone is probably aware of by now.

A small glimpse of 1/1/2000, anyone? ...Tim

can someone post current bid/ask, or post a URL for free real-time quotes? thanks in advance.

***OT**** these kind of glitches (temporary satellite snafus) are what we can expect from Y2K as well, so don't panic, IMHO.

Valueman, thanks for Galaxy 4 comments. Sounds like a very strange day at the office.
Let me clarify: you stated that it costs $10MM annually to keep a bird aloft and that 40 to 50% of that number is insurance? Yikes! Doesn't that mean that you're paying say 8 years x $5MM/year or $40MM to insure a bird that cost $100MM out of the shoot?
Have I had too much French Roast this AM or is my new Hewlett Packard acting as goofy as Galaxy 4? Regards, Mike Doyle
