To all, I watched the Loral story on the News Hour with Jim Lehrer last night. The host tried to be objective and deal with facts but IMO the facts were distorted. They leave you thinking that Loral gave China missile guidance secrets with the President's full knowledge. From what I can determine, Loral just gave China a "black box" and had them launch it with no technology transfer at all. How did this technology transfer allegedly occur? Did the Chinese disassemble the satellites, reverse engineer them and then quickly reassemble before the launch? Did Loral/Hughes furnish schematics and a functional descriptions of the satellite?
