Are you serious, Frank? IDTI was trying to get something out there when the market for product was lean and the margins were fat. Floating point and MMX are not big elements for most people - floating point is relatively meaningful for a large minority of people who use CAD or other technical or gaming programs. MMX... I don't think anyone really wrote programs using the MMX instructions, so its a non-problem for now (note that no one talks about PII with MMX!).

That said, I'm pretty disappointed that IDTI has not ramped up production expeditiously or put anything on the bottom line that we can drool over. On the other hand, I'm impressed at progress in general. Still, show me the money!

Regarding:

<said Henry, who admits that the total is still relatively insignificant compared to the total market size. He also admits that the chip had a few flaws, notably the lack of a floating-point unit and MMX technology. But Henry said the latest version
corrects both of those issues. >

I think the article author mixed up the message. (Henry is too technical)
