The all knowing "market" may be grasping IDT's situation a bit better today: IDTI is up while INTC, AMD, and NSM are down.

Intel has announced that they have licensed and un-named company for their P6 slot 1 technology. This is thought to be due to pressure from the FTC probe into monopolistic activity over the past few years (about time). As you know, Intel has forced out many PC chip-set suppliers and until now has excluded any from making PII/slot 1 compatible chip-sets. Intel is expected to eventually license several companies - for a high price. The rumored recipient of the license is OPTI or SMSC. Either one of these are weak companies unable to offer much competition to Intel (after Intel has decimated their businesses for the past few years).
