That's the point. Options are an off-the-books
way of compensating employees while keeping
earnings shining. Warren Buffett would never
do it, which is good enough for me. I agree
with several other sensible SI posters that
this options game will be the downfall of
this market. Just because GAAP doesn't have
a good way of accounting for them doesn't
mean the problem doesn't exist, no matter
how much the companies would like us to think
so. It gets worse when the board is essentially
in bed with management.
