What I mean is that the Yurie product is not a switch. There is no switch fabric (crossbar). It does not have the ability to take any input and move the data to any output. It is a concentrator. Okay thanks Gary. I think the confusion developed in my mind because for us, Yurie was positioning their concentrator against Ascend's BSTX8000, which is definitely a switch. Now I see why Yurie's price is so much lower. But I think for our application (multiplexing voice & data VC's), a "concentrator" is adequate. bucky89
