No one claims Loral blew up their own satellite. Some government types argued that it was a bad idea to send American satellites up on Chinese rockets because of the fear that they would get their hands on secret components. That fear now seems justified. Others thought the fears were unfounded. They were apparently wrong. The President listened to the other voices. The President went with the side that gave him money. Coincidence?

I have it figured out now. Loral gave black box to China and assisted it decoding. Then as payment to Loral the Chinese have agreed to make all other satellites inoperable. The first test has just been completed on the PanAmSat. It looks as though it worked. Next Lor will begin a scheduled satellite elimination program that will be executed based on LOR's ability to absorb the affected market. Once the majority of targeted sats have been rendered inoperable LOR will make an offer to purchase all inoperable sats with the explanation that they will try to reactivate same sats. Once purchase program is competed they will call the Chinese, issue the order to reactivate all sats and bingo, they're a monopoly!

To all: What is happening to this thread? There are a number of regular contributors that provide excellent information. In addition, Loral is in fact a sound investment. However, there are also a number of posters that feel the need to crucify anyone providing opinion or information that does not wholeheartedly support LOR. When you start ridiculing groups such as the Christian Coalition or the Republicans and calling them liars simply because they are pursuing something that they believe in that may be contrary to your favorite stock is wrong. As JMD has pointed out in the past, postings can be misinterpreted to a certain extent because we cannot provide body language or other verbal clues transmitted in actual conversation. With this in mind and the fact that we are all entitled to our own opinions there is no excuse for calling a fellow poster a liar and cursing at them over these threads is simply childish. Iridium supporters have long put up with misinformation and strong opposing opinions but we have never sunk to the depths that I have seen here over the last couple of days. If Loral is the home run that everyone here believes it is then there is no need for the panic that has been demonstrated. Your apparent panic is not sending the message to idle readers of this thread that you want to. Dougin is one of the few treating this issue with the ridicule that it probably deserves. Lets get back to intelligent discussion and end all of the in-fighting, name calling and misinformation.
