LEAP choices: ZNLAT and ZPJAH, when INTC hits 72, and AMAT hits 32. Hope to get either for under 10. By about July 2000, when I plan to sell them, I think there is next-to-zero chance that 100 INTC calls, or 40 AMAT calls, will not be well-in-the-money. This limits the risk, somewhat. The upside: for every 10 points INTC goes over 110, I double my money. For every 10 points over 50 that AMAT goes, I double my money. These are gambles I'm willing to make, using about 20% of my money, assuming I can get my price. I may get it soon with INTC.
