It is marginable, depending on the broker apparently - can we stop arguing about this. If somebody thinks it shouldn't be, then call the SEC and complain. We don't set the rules, we just trade by them.

Thanks for your comments. That's consistent with what I was saying in my earliest post:
<<It's an amateur's myth that one cannot short a non-marginable security. So long as one has ABUNDANT funds in ones cash account, you can short the equity with quite a few brokerage firms (provided they can find shares to borrow -- I omitted this in my haste). Intra-day shorts are even easier.>>
