That thread is wonderful! I haven't laughed that hard on SI before, Paul definately is on top of Y2K. The baby story goes down as one of the better posts I have seen.

Here is more

How did all that 'stuff' get tied together..?
Reading it just makes me very tired.
Wonder if Phillips sold off..?

There are some problems associated with this 2000 bug....
I know there is talk of people removing their life savings out of the
banks before Friday Dec 31,1999....I suppose if enough did it there
could be more then a slight problem....chuckle

I've also read a few articles on various problems associated with y2k
--Many suggest that you shouldn't be in an elevator at midnight
--Or on the subway
--In an airplane
--Or in cruise control of your automobile
--Don't be passing through an intersection at midnight...lights out
--That you demand a full up-to-date brokerage accounting be mailed to
you at the close on thursday Dec 30th
--Double check the dates on your milk carton expiry
--Tear-up your credit card invoices....they won't be able to find any
balances...you will be off scott-free
--National debt will be reversed and keep declining at the same rate
--Have plenty of candlers on hand

Anyway....some of it is serious...but I cannot seperate out what is
real -- what is fixable -- what is non-sense.

One article talked about forward testing of nuclear power plants....the
problem caused system failures and shutdown operations. I cannot imagine
these operators are not aware of this glich and are fixing the codes.

I'm usually asleep at midnight on new years eve
Maybe I will stay up this time.
