David and Alex regarding SEV. I don't know if they have found oil show in the the #6E well but based on my following this stock in the past the stock tells you in advance whether they have found anything. In the past there have been scouts camping around watching the drilling process with one hand holding the binoculars and the other hand holding the cellular phone to their brokers back home. Shall we expect anything different this time? From the way the stock moved towards the end of the day, I'd say we have hit the jackpot! And for your getting in at 20 1/8, David, you hit the double jackpot!! Congratulation!!! I'd love to see the intraday chart but the damn satellite is still not working... :( Read the Yahoo thread and in particular the posts from Oilperson. SEV is so predictable in that the stock rises when there is news and it tanks when there is no news. I am already loaded to the teeth and this is partially based on psedo-knowledge (with some TA which tells me $20 is a very strong support) and partially just betting that SEV find more oil. Now, Alex, your points are all very well taken. In the case of SEV, some apply and some don't. The story is too long to tell but what SEV is discovering now could be the largest oil reserve in recent years. With that, one can really throw the timing question out of the door because they want to be acquired by a major oil and they aren't going the way of OIL. The way I play SEV is to trade it like a yo-yo by knowing/estimating when the next news will come out and play the writing call, writing put games and collect income in either direction. Can get pretty hairy but the payout is definitely better than the drillers. LT - what's wrong with MU today? Closed on good strength? Oh, well, will live to see another day.
