Unfortunately with the vote in the House today re not allowing LOR or anyone to launch satellites in China--Clinton couldn't override a veto, let's hope things get better before it gets to the Senate. Only four votes against.

WASHINGTON (AP) - The House overwhelmingly approved an amendment to a $270 billion defense bill that bans President Clinton from entering into new agreements with China involving technology transfers during his current trip. The vote to put sharp limits on future high-technology exports comes amid allegations that high-technology exports to China jeopardized national security. It was the first in a package of four amendments in back-to-back votes as the House turned debate on defense spending into a platform for criticizing Clinton's China policy.
