Brian: thanks. that was a nice succinct summary that you had there! Now riddle me this - of the 1.2 billion that AMAT got about how much in your estimation is for this "maintenance" related stuff? I really think this "maintenance spending %ge" holds the key. Under an absolute worst case scenario even the most desperate companies have to spend on upkeep - it is not quite as "discretionary" as new purchases. It is also likely a very good use of cash - spend a few bucks to keep the fabs you have going - a few bucks for a few tens of million of chips. Shane.
