I didn't see the report on CNBC regarding Adaptec, but I have something to add. Adaptec of late appears to be operating in a crisis mode fearing Fibre Channel eventually will usurp switched SCSI their mainstream product. Adaptec has been touting the attributes of switched SCSI which seems to fit well with smaller storage requirements and legacy hardware. They are painfully aware Godzilla Fibre Channel is just around the corner. I agree with the assessment of many, 1999 will mark the year of Fibre Channel dominance.

Craig, thanks for the info on the CNBC segment. Fibre channel as an emerging technology is definitely is hitting the radar screens of Wall St, especially if some Bear Stearns guy is aware of FC.

There appears to alot of angst on the Adaptec thread, not unlike ANCR <g>.
