Haim; Off Topic..meteorite storm I'v know of them for some time but first heard that this November was to be exceptional about 2 weeks ago on TV..ccf.arc.nasa.gov web99.arc.nasa.gov web99.arc.nasa.gov leroy.cc.uregina.ca web99.arc.nasa.gov ------------- You will find more and likely hear more about them as November gets closer. The news media may play it up , then again they may not. Any way it seems that August to Sept we will get some activity, with a very good chance of passing through the thick part in November ( it only takes an hour ) and will not likely be seen in the US :-( --------------------- I have a feeling that if one was to see the heart of it and not know what was going on they would think the world was ending, up to 40 hits per second. --------------------- I also think I'm more fascinated with it than the average person because of my background, were it might not awe a normal person. The picture in my minds eye of how the earth is flying is in itself awesome even with out the benefit of the meteorites. -------------------- Do You know the Moon is not our Satellite ? But that It is really our sister planet. I doubt the average person ever thinks about how fast we are going , or how we wobble, and zig zag in our orbit. It's all taken for granted but I tell you it's anything but simple, and not near as stable as one might want to think. I missed my calling as a young man, I think I should have been an Astronomer. Jim PS if I got your curiosity up look up what a "La Grange" Point is. The earth has two primary ones worth investigating but because they are invisible I guess NASA does not consider them worth looking into. I'm most sure we have already put a manned space craft through one of the Moons La Grange Points but it was not calculated and so they didn't look for any anomalies. ( they are voids in space with "NO gravity at all" set up by an orbital body ) I also picture Earths forward one as the ideal place for a space, radar type station, to give early warnings of any major asteroids. We likely only know less than 10% of the ones we could run into, and have had many many close calls that have gone unrecorded. Want a scary thought, All know Quasars are receding away from us at just about the speed of light, ( but what we are seeing there is history ) If one were coming at us at just about the speed of light we would not and could see or detect it until the last few seconds Putting it another way, if the BIG BANG , expanding and collapsing universe is correct then the collapsing part could fold in on us with out warning, every thing as we know it would just blink out in about a spilt second. Any second too. I prefer to entertain the idea that a some what steady state universe evolved and anti mater is the result of that.
